Warm weather continues in northern plains

New Delhi : People in the northern plains continued to brave warm sunny afternoons as the maximum temperature Friday was again 6-8 degrees Celsius above normal in the region.

Though the day’s high in most parts of the plains was many notches above normal, the residents enjoyed cool mornings and pleasant evenings.

The maximum temperature in Delhi Friday was around 34 degrees Celsius, seven degrees above normal. But more worrying for the Delhities is the steadily climbing minimum temperature. The day’s low in the national capital was 17 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office has forecast that the current trend will continue till March 10 and then the mercury could fall a bit.

Northwest of the country also saw temperatures above normal. The weatherman has forecast rain in parts of Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan after March 9 that could lead to a fall in maximum temperature in the region.

Most parts of the country continued to witness dry weather.
