New Delhi: Maulana Arshad Madani, dismissed president of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, has welcomed the proposal of Maulana Marghoobur Rahman, director of Darul Uloom Deoband, to solve the crisis in the Jamiat.
Maulana Marghoobur Rahman, who is also senior member of the Jamiat working committee, made a proposal wherein he said that a compromise should be reached in light of the Jamiat constitution. If any section of the constitution needed explanation during the solution-finding process, a committee comprising some veteran scholars of Deoband should be constituted.
The crisis began on 6th March when in the Jamiat working committee meeting a no-confidence motion was passed against its president Maulana Arshad Madani and Qari Usman was appointed caretaker president.
Welcoming Maulana Marghoobur Rahman’s proposal, Maulana Arshad Madani said in his statement that he always stressed on the constitution of Jamiat which is above all and if it is followed then all resentments and misunderstandings would be ended.
Maulana Marghoobur Rahman earlier said he was deeply pained with the internal conflicts of the Jamiat and in this situation it would be better to find out a solution within the Jamiat constitution.
