New Delhi : The Andhra Pradesh postal circle has decided to retail forest produce through its post offices, Minister of State for Communication and IT Shakeel Ahmad told the Rajya Sabha Thursday.
The Andhra Pradesh postal circle has entered into a tie up with M/s Girijan Cooperative Cooperation Limited, an undertaking of the state government, to retail the forest produce at 16 select post offices in Hyderabad City region and Hyderabad region, the minister said.
The department of posts is offering these services with an objective to leverage its network support for the work done by the Cooperative for the upliftment of tribal people in the state, he said.
