Lahore : There is complete ban on kite flying in the provincial metropolis of Lahore and violators would be arrested on the spot, warns Capital City Police Chief, Additional IG Malik Mohammed Iqbal.
According to a hand out received here on Saturday, as many as 76 special teams led by concerned SHOs have been constituted to ensure implementation of the ban.
These teams will promptly act against those indulging in kite flying and aerial firing, it was stated.
In FAISALABAD, two persons were killed while more than 50 others were injured in different Basant (kite flying) related incidents here on Friday.
12-year-old Waqas of Gulistan Colony was crushed by a car on Sheikhupura Road in front of Crescent School while trying to catch a stray kite.
In second incident, motorcyclist Asif Iqbal slipped while trying to save a boy running in the middle of road to catch a kite. In the meantime, a trailer coming from rear side crushed him to death. The trailer also turned turtle and its driver Sadiq was also injured.
Another motorcyclist was also critically injured with a chemically treated twine on Sammundri Road.
