New Delhi : The proposed 4,000 MW Krishnapatnam power project in Andhra Pradesh is awaiting clearance from the environment and forests ministry, pending clarification on the compliance plan.
The ministry’s committee of experts examined the compliance plan Feb 28 and sought clarifications, said an official in the Power Finance Corp, the government’s nodal agency for arranging key physical and regulatory clearances for the project.
“We expect to respond to the clarifications soon,” the official told IANS. “The committee will make its recommendations based on our clarifications.”
The project will meet its cooling water requirement from the sea and discharge used water into it, the official added.
