Bhubaneswar : At least 40 people were stung by a swarm of bees in a village in Orissa, an official said Thursday.
A villager damaged the beehive on a banyan tree located at Sindhol village in the coastal district of Jagatsinghpur, some 120 km from here Wednesday, and collected honey.
Thousands of bees then stung the villagers, including women and children, a local police official said.
The injured people, with swollen faces and bodies, are undergoing treatment, he said.
