Kozhikode : Three children who ventured out to fish in heavy rain died when a chunk of soil fell on them in north Kerala Saturday afternoon. Two more children suffered injuries in the incident.
The accident took place near Panamaram in Wayanad district. The dead were identified as Ranjithm, 9, Muthukrishnan, 12, and seven-year-old Shivan. The children were standing inside a cave, sheltering from the rain, when the roof caved in on them.
Panamaram is around 15 km from district headquarters Wayanad. The police with the help of local people recovered the bodies.
