Holi revellers booked for traffic violations

New Delhi : As people celebrated Holi Saturday, Delhi Police were on their toes, booking a large number of revellers for drunken driving and traffic rule violations.

As many as 271 people were held for driving vehicles while being under the influence of alcohol, and 443 were booked for jumping the red light at traffic signals, the police said.

As many as 464 people were booked for driving two-wheelers without wearing a helmet, 102 for “dangerous driving” and 246 for triple riding on a two-wheeler.

There were 390 cases of “other traffic violations” and 300 vehicles were impounded for violating various rules, police said.
