Riyadh : Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz have held talks here on cooperation relations between Yemen and the Saudi Kingdom in political, economic, security and military fields.
The talks Tuesday dealt with improvements of the situation in Palestine, Iraq, Somalia and Lebanon as well as the two countries’ efforts in fighting agaisnt terror and organised crime.
The two parties discussed issues included in the Arab Summit’s agenda due in Damascus this month and coordinating efforts of the two countries towards unifying Arab attitude in facing challenges.
Saleh briefed King Abdullah on efforts Yemen exerted for filling the rift in the Palestinian national front. The efforts resulted in the signing of the Sana’a Reconciliation Agreement between the Hamas and Fatah movements.
He noted that these efforts are complementary to Saudi ones in solving differences between the two movements, highlighting efforts of King Abdullah for Arab solidarity and Saudi support for Yemen’s development.
For his part, King Abdullah expressed admiration for the continuous development of Yemeni-Saudi relations seen in different fields, confirming security of Yemen is part of Saudi security.
He highlighted Yemen’s efforts in bridging the Palestinian rift, confirming that the Saudi Kingdom was with Yemen.
