Harbhajan confident of team’s comeback

Chennai : South Africa might have taken the opening day’s honours, but Harbhajan Singh is confident that India will fight their way back into the Test.

South Africa made a thumping start to the Test series, piling up 304 runs losing just four wickets. A flat pitch combined with sloppy fielding helped the visitors. Harbhajan said India would look to bowl out South Africa as quickly as possible Thursday morning.

“We will try to get them out within another 80 runs. That is our target. We have to get just two more wickets for the tail to open up. If we can do that tomorrow, we are in the game,” Harbhajan said.

Harbhajan, who took two wickets on a day when the Indian bowlers struggled to contain the South African batsmen, felt that poor fielding cost them 35 to 40 runs.

“We lost our way in the first session when we conceded far too many boundaries, and they dominated us. The wicket here is always like this. It plays good for the batsmen in the first two days,” he said.
