Ghaziabad : A symposium on polio eradication Thursday suggested taking help of volunteers to remove any confusion among people on the effects of polio drops given to children.
Of 339 polio cases found in India in 2007, 180 were from the western districts of Uttar Pradesh, Ashok Mahahan, a Rotarian, said at the symposium organised by Rotary International, representatives of Muslim clerics, World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nation’s Children’s Fund (Unicef).
Of this, 32 were from Meerut, 11 from Baghpat, 49 from Muzaffar Nagar, 12 from Bulandshahr, 27 from Saharanpur, 33 from Ghaziabad, 14 from Bijnor and two from G B Nagar.
