New Delhi : Mild tremors of magnitude 4.0 on richter scale have been felt in Barmer district, along the international border in Rajasthan on Friday.
“Tremor was of mild nature, and no loss of human life and property or buildings has been reported so far,” V C Pandey, Superintendent of Police (SP) (Barmer) said, Doordarshan news portal reported here.
Tremors were experienced at around 12:32 hours in parts of Barmer district covering Chohotan and Dhorimana towns touching the border.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located on the India-Pakistan border region at latitudes 25.3 north and 70.5 east, an official of Delhi Seismology Centre said.
Many students, appearing in their examinations, came out of examination halls apprehending earthquake, Dr N M Surana, Associate Professor at a degree college in Barmer said.
