Dolatyar called the Dutch government and its parliament to respect the sanctities and beliefs of world Muslims and safeguard the rights of 53 million Muslim minorities living in Europe.
He urged the Dutch governing system to avoid sacrilege and inciting moves of sedition and to encourage dialogue between cultures and religions instead.
Dolatyar also called the Dutch government to take legal action against those involved in the sacrilegious act.
He said that the Dutch government and parliament are expected to not only condemn such uncivilized moves but to seriously deal with illogical behavior of rightist element in Dutch parliament.
The Dutch ambassador, for his part, highlighted the stand of his government and parliament condemning the move and said his country’s political parties and parliamentary officials stay away from such illogical behavior of this rightist representative and fully respect Islam and Quran.
He said he would convey Iran’s protest to the Dutch government at the earliest.
