Bhopal : The Madhya Pradesh government would soon establish IT-enabled Common Service Centres at villages, state Information and Technology Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said Thursday.
Talking to newspersons, Vijayvargiya said the government would form a cluster of five villages and the Common Service Centre in each cluster would provide high-level video, information about education, health and entertainment to the common people.
The project would not only take the government to the village level but also provide employment to about 16,000 people, he said.
Vijayvargiya said that e-tendering system has been introduced for government projects.
“At present tenders for works amounting to Rs.2 crore (Rs.20 million) and more are being accepted through e-tendering, gradually tenders for smaller amounts will also be accepted through the same procedure in order to bring transparency in the official work,” he said.
He said the central government has sanctioned Rs.120 million under state-wide area network (SWAN) project. The project, he said, envisages interlinking all block headquarters, district headquarters, divisional headquarters and the state capital.
