Bhopal: A top management workshop on business excellence, facilitated by S. K. Kakkar, Head, CII – Institute of Quality and attended by Executive Director, General Managers and Direct Reporting Officers of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit was held the other day at IFX conference hall here.
Kakkar in his address felt that excellence initiatives help in overall improvement of business and that all out efforts should be made to review, innovate and align various processes to suit the changing business scenario. He focused on ‘Enlightened self interest’ Corporate social responsibility’ ‘Daily Works Management’, ‘Quality of learning’ and implementation of ‘5-S’ and ‘Visual Displays’.
BHEL Bhopal unit Executive Director, R. K. Singh, in his address stressed that continuous review and monitoring of Turnover has resulted in improving performance to meet the delivery targets. He shared his executive dashboard that enables him to monitor Handing Over, Dispatches and Cash Collection.
J. B. Basfore, Sr. DGM (QMX), presented a RCA case study and a Six Sigma Project case study.
Prabhat Kumar, GM (P & D), while proposing vote of thanks emphasized that learning from this workshop be used in the next scheduled Top Management Workshop for identification of Critical Success Factors and Critical issues.
