Sana’a : Yemen and Malaysia are seeking to boost bilateral cooperation in areas such as heart surgery and investment promotion and exchange related information, the GPC-run almotamar.net said on Friday.
The Yemeni ambassador to Malaysia Abdullah al-Muntasir said that the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) had said it will establish a direct communication channel with Yemen’s General Investment Authority to promote investment opportunities in the two countries.
Al-Muntasir said the chairman of the Malaysian authority had unveiled that his authority will hold training courses for Yemeni officials on investment, industrial and trade promotion as well as displaying the Malaysian experiences and acquainting with the investment features in Yemen.
The ambassador held talks with the MIDA and National Heart Center to discuss means to promote cooperation between them and their Yemeni counterparts.
After a visit to the Malaysian National Heart Center, al-Muntasir said there was an agreement to send a Malaysian medical team to the Yemeni Heart Center to perform during ten days open heart surgeries for Yemeni children with congenital deformities.
He added the Malaysian National Heart Center expressed its readiness to provide Yemen’s Public Health and Population Ministry with technical assistance through training Yemeni cadres at the Yemeni Hearth Center on performing open heart surgeries.
Malaysia’s National Heart Center is the biggest such center in the east Asia.
