Baghdad : Four US marines were killed in a mine attack in western Iraq, the American military here said Sunday.
The victims were in a vehicle which was hit by an impovised explosive device in the Anbar province on Friday, the military said in a statement.
The names of the soldiers were being withheld until families could be informed, it added.
The latest deaths brought the number of US troops killed in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion to 4,071, according to an AFP count based on independent website www.icasualties.org.
