By IANS,

New Delhi : An Indian Air Force (IAF) plane carrying more relief material Thursday reached Myanmar, where a devastating cyclone has killed some 22,000 people amid reports that the death toll could be as high as 100,000.

An IAF spokesman said the IL-76 aircraft with tents, medicines and sheets flew of New Delhi under ‘Operation Sahayata’ (Operation Assistance).

India has already despatched two AN-32s to Myanmar with six tonnes of relief material.

Two Indian warships — INS Rana and INS Kirpan — braved high velocity winds Wednesday to reach Yangon and join rescue operations.
