Bhopal : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Madhya Pradesh election incharge Venkaiah Naidu Friday urged the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government to consider seriously the observations of the Supreme Court with regard to the Ram Setu.
He also demanded resignation of Union Health Minister A. Ramadoss in the light of the Apex Court’s ruling re-instating P. Venugopal as AIIMS director.
Talking to newspersons here Friday, Naidu described the top court ruling on AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) as a “slap on the face” of the UPA government. He demanded that Ramadoss resign immediately or else he be sacked forthwith.
Naidu accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of “failing” to protect the premier institute of national importance. He said the court ruling has come as a defeat of Ramadoss and his malafide intentions and the defeat of the prime minister and his government as well.
Commenting on the observations of the Supreme Court in the context of the Ram Setu, Naidu said the UPA government should take its observations seriously and respect the sentiments of the people.
Naidu, who was here to meet the party workers and leaders, said the BJP would go to people in the next elections with the development works done by his party’s government in the state on one hand, and the failures and discrimination of the UPA government with the non-Congress governments on the other.
“In a nutshell, the coming elections would be decided on development by the state government versus failures of the UPA government including price rise,” said Naidu. He, however, said that the final poll strategy would be decided by the party leaders after the state executive meet slated for May 13.
