Hamas launches 15 missiles at Sderot

Gaza : Eziddin Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility of firing 15 rockets within one hour at southern Israel on Saturday.

In a press release, the brigades stressed that the attack came in response to the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the Israeli attacks on security sites in Rafah and Khan Younis Friday evening and Saturday morning, in which at least six Palestinians were killed.

Earlier, the brigades said in a press release that its fighters launched five “Qassam” rockets at the Israeli settlement of Sderot as response to two Israeli air raids on Gaza Strip that killed five Palestinians.

The brigades also claimed responsibility of bombarding the Israeli military site of Zikim and Nahal Oz site east of Gaza on Saturday.

In another press release, the brigades said it fired two missiles at an Israeli settlement east of Gaza city early Saturday.

Spokesman of the Israeli Army said Saturday that seven Palestinian rockets were launched from Gaza Strip at Sderot, adding that one of the rockets hit a home and caused great damage to it.

Two other rockets launched from Gaza Saturday morning had hit an educational institute in Sderot, causing damage but no casualties, he told Israel Radio.

The Palestinian rockets also caused power blackout in several districts in Sderot, he added.
