New Delhi : A maid servant was suspected to have drugged two young women who employed her and fled with some cash and electronic items, Delhi Police said Sunday.
Saloni and Saran Suri, both 24, hailed from Chandigarh and lived in Sarvodaya Enclave in south Delhi. “Their maid Lucy allegedly drugged the two girls,” a police officer said.
The incident came to light when the girls’ mother called them but there was no response Friday night and Saturday. She then asked her friends to go and check.
“The friends found that the TV set was playing at high volume, the lights were on in the apartment and their vehicle was parked. But the door was locked from outside. The friends broke open the door and found the two of them lying unconscious,” the official said.
Both were rushed to a hospital where they were discharged Sunday morning.
Lucy, who hailed from Orissa, was hired from a placement agency.
“Lucy was suspected to have been helped by somebody in the robbery. She also tore up her verification form, but we are checking with the placement agency also,” the official said.
