Bank guard fires at two customers in Jharkhand

By IANS,

Ranchi : Two people were injured Wednesday when a security guard of a bank fired at them in Ranchi, the police said.

According to the police, some four-five customers were coming out from the ICICI Bank’s Lalpur branch in Ranchi Wednesday around 1.15 p.m. when they had a scuffle with the security guard. The guard opened fire and two customers were injured.

One person sustained injuries on his leg while the other was injured on his hand and face, the police said.

Both injured people were rushed to hospital, where they were stated to be out of danger.

However, an ICICI Bank official told IANS that when the customers were coming out of the bank, the security guard was pushed to the ground. The guard’s rifle fell on the ground and a bullet was fired.

“It was not deliberate move of the security person to fire on the customers. The ICICI will bear the expenditure incurred on the treatment of the injured persons,” he said.
