Brussels : President of the European Commission (EC), Jose Manuel Barroso, has sent a message to the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressing “shock and great sadness” over the bomb-blasts in Jaipur, EuAsiaNews reported Thursday.
“On behalf of the European Commission and on my own behalf, allow me to offer you and the people of India our sincere condolences, and the expression of our deepest sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims,” said Barroso in his message from Lima.
Barroso is in Peru to attend the EU-Latin America summit.
The EC is the executive body of the 27-member European Union. Barroso is a former prime minister of Portugal.
