Jaipur: That Jaipur bombings had more and more casualties as target, be they from any community, is evident from the community-wise tally of the toll that read 16 Muslims as dead and 30 others wounded by 16th May.
In all, 64 innocent people lost their lives in the serial blasts that took place in the tourist city of Jaipur on 13th May. More than 200 people were injured.
The community-wise tally of the victims was provided to the media by Rajasthan Muslim Forum, a conglomerate of 15 Muslim organizations of the state, on 16th May. All bombs were planted in bicycles. Police have not got any remarkable success in the investigation so far.
Talking to pressmen, Quari Moinuddin, convener of the Forum, said Muslims suffered huge economic losses along with the loss of human lives in the bombings. A large number of Muslim traders have been affected by the blasts. The convener said Muslims are in majority and established in the business of jewelry, clothes, shoes and other artisan works in the areas hit by the bombings. Thousands of daily wagers, mostly artisans, have not returned to their work due to fear, he said.
He demanded a fair probe into the bombings so that the culprits responsible for the inhuman acts could be brought to book. On purpose of the culprits, he said the terrorists wanted to sabotage communal harmony in the state and the country which is progressing rapidly and strengthening its global presence.
