Abu Dhabi : UAE’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has donated two million Dirhams to the Palestinian University of Al Quds. Speaking at a fund-raising event, Sheikh Nahyan said the UAE support to the university was, indeed, a token of support to the struggle and resilience of the Palestinian people, WAM reported.
He praised the social and educational role of the university, saying it became a great centre of learning. During the event, Sheikh Nahyan was also honoured by the university by being awarded an honourary doctoral degree. The honor was presented to Sheikh Nahyan by the Commissioner of Al Quds Jameel Nasser.
