IGNOU admission process begins Wednesday

New Delhi : The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will start its admission process for scores of management programmes from Wednesday, a varsity official said Tuesday.

“Candidates can obtain application forms and prospectus for masters in business administration (MBA), post-graduate diplomas in management, human resource development, finance, operations, marketing and diploma in management,” said Ravi Mohan, IGNOU spokesman.

“The university will be admitting the students for the degree/diplomas in management starting from January 2009 and July 2009 through an entrance test OPENMAT-XXIV. It will be held Aug 17 across the country,” Mohan added.

The university, one of the largest distant learning centres in Asia, has a students’ base of over 1.5 million. It has a presence in 35 countries including India.

Authorities said admission forms can be obtained personally, by registered post and can be downloaded from the varsity website. The last date for submission of filled forms is July 15.
