Buenos Aires : Five children were killed in their sleep when a fire engulfed their dwelling on the outskirts of the Argentine city of La Plata, Spain’s EFE news agency has reported.
Another child was rescued and hospitalised with serious burns, EFE quoted officials as having said Wednesday.
Six children, between the age of two and 14 years, were trapped inside the house when the fire broke out.
Police said the intensity of the fire made it impossible for rescuers to enter the hutment and bring out the children.
The cause of the fire was being investigated, officials said.
