Ghaziabad : Prashant Garg, a student of Delhi Public School (Ghaziabad), has topped the CBSE Class 12 exams in the area, scoring 97.3 percent. He is aiming to become an IAS officer. In Noida, Smita Mohan is the topper, scoring 96.4 percent.
Prashant stunned everyone with his stellar performance. Scoring a full in Maths, 98 in Chemistry and Informatics each, the Kavi Nagar resident says: “I want to serve my nation and the bureaucracy is the best forum where I can practice it.”
The son of a housewife mother and a car accessories dealer, Prashant is also keen to take a shot at engineering. An overjoyed Prashant said he owes his success to his parents and teachers.
“My mother used to wake me up early mornings to study. My teachers were there for me whenever I needed their help,” he said. The topper’s interests include reading general knowledge books and watching television.
Smita Mohan, a Summervilla School student, wants to become a top management professional.
She is a trained dancer and musician and has given a number of stage performances.
She has scored 95 in Maths, 96 in Chemistry, 97 in Physics, 96 in English and 98 in Computers.
“I was most happy after solving my physics paper, which was heavily analytical,” said an elated Smita, a resident of Sector-19 Noida. Daughter of a Kendriya Vidyalaya School maths teacher and government officer wife, she is hopeful of making it to the Indian Institute of Technology. “I shall then do an MBA,” said Smita.
“I love reading novels, fiction, science books,” averred Smita.
