Dubai : The global demand for lighting fixtures will exceed $94 billion by 2010, according to a forecast by the organisers of the Light Middle East exhibition here, WAM news agency reported Friday.
Epoc Messe Frankfurt GmbH, the organisers of the exhibition that will be held May 25-27, said that the growth would be spurred primarily by end-users in the construction and industrial development sectors.
“From basic lights to exquisite chandeliers, simple operating switches to complex sensor controlled lighting systems, Light Middle East provides the ideal business platform for companies involved in the development and manufacture of lighting systems,” said Epoc Messe Frankfurt CEO Eckhard Pruy.
“Major gains are expected in the categories of luminous and other non-luminescent portable light fittings, such as those in LED lights,” he added.
“Solid-state lighting technology that offers increased energy savings and advanced capabilities is poised to revamp the lightings industry worldwide,” said Jessica Minton, senior show manager of the exhibition.
Light Middle East provides a platform for property developers from around the region to source lighting solutions as well as architectural design solutions and engineering consultancy in what is one of the most vibrant property development markets in the world.
