Kuwait’s PM calls on new MPs to be constructive

By NNN-KUNA,

Kuwait : Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has called on newly-elected members of Parliament to choose rhetoric free of escalation to pave way for constructive and fruitful administrative work.

In his remarks published by the Arabic-language local daily “Al-Rai” on Sunday, he urged the legislators to adopt “calm and balanced” language while addressing the issue of forming a new cabinet.

Sheikh Nasser re-affirmed his aspiration for establishing a new government, whose manifesto is topped by development schemes.

“Rhetoric and statements should be distinguished with wisdom and calm in the coming stage for sake of the public interest,” said Sheikh Nasser, who was re-named, last Tuesday, by the Amir as the premier and assigned to nominate members of a new cabinet.

Sheikh Nasser’s remarks coincided with various reports by the local press, including speculations on the forecast cabinet line-up, his fourth since he was first appointed at the head of the executive authority in 2006.

The prime minister has reportedly begun consultations at various levels to form the new government.

The country witnessed parliamentary elections on May 17, after HH the Amir dissolved the previous assembly in March, against the backdrop of serious disagreements between the lawmakers and the executives on running state affairs.
