By Xinhua,
Baghdad : Six people were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion targeting an Iraqi police patrol in southeastern part of the Iraqi capital on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
“A roadside bomb detonated in the afternoon near a police patrol while passing in Jisr Diyala area, wounding four civilians and two policemen,” the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast also damaged one of the police vehicles, the source said.
Earlier, U.S. forces informed the Iraqi police patrols that 30 bodies were scattered in the al-Ubeidi neighborhood in eastern Baghdad, but the Iraqi police found only four bodies, the source said, adding that Iraqi police have no information about the rest of the bodies.
The U.S. military has not confirmed the incident yet.
Violence and daily gruesome finding of unidentified bodies continue in Baghdad despite the announcement of the U.S. and Iraqi officials about a steep drop of violence as a result of a major security plan aimed at checking the insurgency and sectarian strife in the capital.
