Cairo : The Executive Bureau of the Arab Justice Ministers Council yesterday reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The ministers underscored the need to address the roots and causes of terrorism. “Islam, which rejects extremism and terrorism, calls for tolerance and peaceful coexistence of followers of various religions. At the same time, it also distinguishes between terrorism and legitimate right of peoples to fight occupation and aggression taking into account that the killing of innocent civilians is not approved by divine religions or international conventions,” the council said in a statement.
Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, the Minister of Justice, led the Saudi delegation to the meeting. The Arab justice ministers underscored the importance of enhancing Arab and international cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and continuing the efforts to support the Arab action at the United Nations for adopting a resolution by the General Assembly to form a working group to study the proposal of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz calling for the establishment of an international center to combat terrorism.
