Ghaziabad : Forty-five cows have died after eating “poisonous substances” dumped in an open field by major pharma units in Ghaziabad, police said Saturday.
Circle Officer C.P. Singh told IANS that a First Information Report has been filed on a complaint by local residents of this Uttar Pradesh town, adjacent to the national capital. A probe has been launched.
The cows and their calves were foraging in an open area near National Highway 58 in the Meerut Road Industrial Area, where major pharma companies located there allegedly dumped their chemical wastes.
