New Delhi : Police authorities of Assam, that arrested three alleged responsible for the bloody wave of bomb attacks on Thursday, reported they would soon release a few sketches of the suspects involved, to help identify and track down other suspects of the blast.
“We are working on some sketches after some eyewitnesses voluntarily came to us to provide details of few people they thought could have been involved in one of the blasts,”Assam police authorities expressed.
The explosion of 13 bombs in public places killed 77 people and wounded more than 450 on Thursday afternoon, in one of the deadliest terror bombings in the northeastern region of that state of India.
Six of them exploded in Guwahati, the state capital, and the rest in Barpeta, Kokrajhar and Bongaingaon.
The entire investigations into Thursday’s blasts are now being headed by a Special Investigation Team headed by Inspector General of Police R. Chandranathan, he said it would be premature to divulge details at this stage, there is, however, no confirmation yet as to who carried out the serial blasts.
The authorities ruled out the separatist group ULFA (Front United for the Liberation of Assam), but they evaluate if in some way they supported Islamic extremist organizations.
Assam was rocked by a wave of bombings, the panic caused by these brutal actions has seized the inhabitants of the city, with desert streets and avenues that are a testimony of the agony in Assam, closely linked to the attacks.
