Result of US elections will not much impact Mideast policies: Egyptian Diplomat

By NNN-KUNA,

Cairo : An Egyptian diplomat said that the results of the U.S. elections would not cause much of an impact on its policies towards Middle East issues indicating that U.S. institutions are behind these policies, operating according to their interests.

Former Egyptian Ambassador to the United States Nabil Fahmi on Saturday added that John McCain had more experience than his rival senator Barack Obama, being a war veteran and once imprisoned in Vietnam whereas the latter’s policy depends more on cooperation with the international community.

He said that his country’s relations with the U.S. were sturdy, but that little would change after election-day especially with Egypt holding the number one role in boosting the peace process in the Middle East.
