Mumbai : The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Monday nabbed three more people in connection with the Sep 29 Malegaon blast, including the person who managed the finances of the group, a top police official said.

The arrested include Ajay Raikar, who allegedly managed the financial affairs of the entire operation. The other two are Rakesh Dhavade and Jagdish Mhatre who were involved in procuring the weapons, ATS chief Hemant Karkare said here late Monday evening.

The police recovered six imported weapons like Smith & Wesson, Luger and .32 revolvers and 190 live rounds from Mhatre.

The three were presented before the Nashik court, which remanded them to police custody till Nov 10, he added.

Karkare said during the investigations it was revealed that Raikar looked after the entire financial aspects of the terror operations culminating in the Sep 29 Malegaon blast which left five dead.

He had given money to Sameer Kulkarni and Dhavade to procure weapons for the operations. Dhavade in turn paid Mhatre to get the weapons, Karkare added.
