Report: Iran, Iraq sign MoU on air transportation

Tehran : Iran and Iraq had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on air transportation, the official IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.

The MoU was signed by head of ICAO pilot Khanlari and his Iraqi counterpart Sabah al-Sheybani here in Tehran, IRNA quoted Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) spokesman Reza Jafarzadeh as saying.

According to the MoU, Iranian domestic airlines companies can fly seven times a week between Tehran and Baghdad and 14 flights from Iran’s other airports to Iraqi city Najaf.

The Iraqi airlines companies can also fly seven times a week between capital cities of the two countries and 14 flights from other Iraqi cities to Iranian city of Mashhad, Jafarzadeh said.

In addition, seven cargo flights between the two countries during a week is among other agreements in the MoU, Jafarzadeh added.
