Nashik : Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh plans to lead an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clear the image of the state tarnished by some unsavoury incidents.
Replying to media queries about disparate Bihar leaders making common cause in defence of people of that state bearing the brunt of a hate campaign in Maharashtra, Deshmukh said he would soon talk to the leaders of opposition in this regard.
On Railway Minister Lalu Prasad’s statement that the Railway Board’s examinations would not be held in Maharashtra, Deshmukh said such a decision cannot be taken on the basis of an isolated incident involving a bunch of misguided youth.
Earlier, addressing a public meeting, the chief minister denounced the incidents of attacks on people from other states earning livelihood here through hard labour.
“Industrial unrest has invariably led to the closing down of factories and subsequent loss of employment for the local population,” he said, exhorting the people to be prepared to work hard rather than unleashing anger on those who are doing it.
