Lucknow : A factory manufacturing spurious drugs was raided Monday and the owner of the unit along with three of his aides were arrested in Uttar Pradesh, the police said.
“Acting on a tip-off we raided the factory Monday afternoon in Khakherha locality in Baghpat district, over 350 km from Lucknow and seized fake drugs worth Rs.5 million,” Police Inspector Phool Singh told IANS.
“Although we managed to arrest the owner of the factory and three of his aides, other employees managed to escape at the time of the raid,” Singh said.
Police believe that the four arrested men, who are being interrogated, supplied fake drugs in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.
