M.K. Narayanan, Qatar heir apparent hold meeting

Doha : India and Qatar reviewed a number of issues of mutual concern in the course of a meeting National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan had with the heir apparent of Qatar here Monday.

Narayanan, who was here as part of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s delegation on a three-day tour of the Gulf, met Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani at the office of the Emiri Diwan and discussed ties of mutual concern and a number of issues of mutual concern.

India and Qatar signed two agreements – one on defence cooperation and another on security and law enforcement – after Singh’s arrival here Sunday evening, the first ever visit by an Indian prime minister to Qatar.

The Monday meeting was attended by the office director Of the heir apparent Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Thani, chief of the state security body Mohamed Bin Ahmed Al-Messnid, and director of the Asian And African Affairs Department at Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Ambassador Abdulrahman Mohamed Al-Kholeifi, according to the official Qatar News Agency.
