Lucknow : A case of looting and dacoity has been filed against a former state minister in Uttar Pradesh, the police said Tuesday.
The case has been registered in the Badhalganj police station in Gorakhpur district against senior Samajwadi Party leader and ex-minister Rambhuwal Nishad, the police said. Gorakhpur is about 260 km from here.
“The complainant, Ranvijay, has alleged that Nishad, along with his supporters, attacked his house Sunday and also opened fire in a bid to kill him,” inspector Shashi Bhushan Singh of Badhalganj police station told IANS.
“Ranvijay also alleged that he was pulled out of his house on Nishad’s orders and besides beating him, Nishad’s supporters also snatched gold ornaments from the women of the family,” Singh said.
“We have lodged a complaint and are investigating the matter,” Singh added.
No arrests have been made so far.
