Dhaka : A three-year celebration of 400-year anniversary of `Dhaka Amar Dhaka’ will kick off on Nov 28.
Chief Adviser of Bangladesh caretaker government Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed will inaugurate the programme at 3 pm on the day at the southern plaza of Jatiya Sangsad.
Elaborate programmes have been chalked out to celebrate the anniversary, an official handout said here today.
Besides a daylong function on November 29, there will be programmes at the government and private levels to celebrate the grand anniversary of Dhaka.
Committees and sub-committees have been formed to smoothly conduct the anniversary that will run till 2010.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of people from different levels in the auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy today with Cultural Affairs Adviser Rasheda K Chowdhury
in the chair.
Former adviser Geeti Ara Safiya Chowdhury, Education Secretary Mohammad Mamatajul Islam, Cultural Secretary Mohammad Sharful Alam and representatives from concerned government and private organizations were present.
