Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy ready to repel any threat in Persian Gulf

Tehran : Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Force, Rear Admiral Morteza Saffari has said here that forces under his command are ready to repel any threat in the Persian Gulf.

“The (IRGC Navy) forces’ preparedness to confront any sort of probable threat posed by enemies in the Persian Gulf has increased,” Morteza told reporters Monday.

He said that the delivery of navy military equipment to the IRGC Navy by the Ministry of Defence has been expedited and “we are totally prepared.”

“Taking a look at the Persian Gulf, we see that the highest level of foreign naval movements and the presence of the US Fifth Fleet in the region takes place near Asalouyeh.”

He said that it is necessary to raise the combat readiness of the Tharallah navy base by building up Iranian forces’ combat preparedness before the insecure atmosphere by foreigners is created in the Persian Gulf.
