Islamabad : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Sunday said Pakistan had no agreement with the US to allow its forces to carry out cross-border attacks inside the country’s territory.
Referring to the cross-border missile attacks by the US, Gilani said the sentiments against America, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the West would rise if the US continued the strikes, private TV channel DAWN NEWS reported.
He also said the Pakistani government would evolve a strategy to stop the strikes.
Gilani said missile strikes were undermining Pakistani army’s strategy to control the situation in the northwestern tribal areas.
Pakistan’s tribal areas have witnessed a string of cross-border missile attacks, most of which were reportedly conducted by unmanned US drones. Terming them violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Pakistan has lodged protests against such attacks.
