Thiruvananthapuram : Congress president Sonia Gandhi will kick-start campaigning in Kerala for the impending Lok Sabha polls Dec 14.
She is expected to address the state conference of the Congress Dec 14-16 and a public rally.
“Yes, you can safely say that this would be the launch of our campaign against the ineffective and anti-people Left government and would be the first phase of the election campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls,” State Congress chief Ramesh Chennithala said Saturday.
He said the Congress has an advantage as the the 30-month-old V.S.Achuthanandan government’s track record is dismal.
“The recent statement of state Finance Minister Thomas Isaac saying that the prospects of growth of the state economy is bleak. They are playing safe and taking cover under the economic slowdown for all ills and this is used to cover their failures.”
Close to 7,000 party office-bearers will participate in the conference where six resolutions will be passed.
