Scholarship test for Indian diaspora children in Kuwait Oct 12

By IANS,

Dubai : The Indian embassy in Kuwait will hold a written test for candidates applying for the Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) Sunday.

The two-hour test for the scholarship by the Indian government will start at 11 a.m. at the Indian Community School (Senior Girls) at Salmiya in Kuwait, the embassy said in a statement.

Though no admit cards are being issued, candidates can check the roll numbers allocated to them for the test at the websites www.edcil.in and www.educationindia4u.nic.in.

India’s Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) has introduced the SPDC programme to allow children of overseas Indians access to India’s education system.

Educational Consultants India Limited (Ed.CIL), an Indian government enterprise, is the nodal agency for implementation of the SPDC.

The programme provides assistance on merit basis to children of NRIs and persons of Indian origin to study in higher and technical institutions in India.
