Cairo : Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul-Gheit said Thursday that the representative envoy for the Middle East Quartet Tony Blair has presented to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak a comprehensive report on supporting the Palestinian economy.
He told reporters that Blair is exerting efforts in coordination with the Palestinian authority to rehabilitate the Palestinian economy along with ensuring stability and security for Palestinian towns and villages controlled by the Palestinian forces.
He noted that Blair briefed the Egyptian leader on progress and follow-up of all Palestinian economic and development projects, including rehabilitation of Palestinian armed forces in Jenin and Nables, among other Palestinian towns.
The talks between the two sides also delved into efforts regarding the peace process in the region and negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian officials.
