Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh government Friday signed an agreement with the Container Corporation of India (Concor) for setting up a container freight station and inland container depot in Solan district.
The state-owned Concor – which operates inland transport services and cargo handling across the country – will construct the depot in the industrial town of Baddi in the next 15 months. The depot would help exporters in the state.
“Concor will transport products valued at over Rs.700 crore (Rs.7 billion),” said Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal after the agreement was signed.
“The depot will help development and growth of industry in the region. It would also be instrumental in development of more export-oriented industrial units and attracting multinational companies to invest in the state,” he added.
The chief minister said Concor would be given land valued at Rs.160 million at a lease rent of Re.1 per acre per annum for 95 years.
