New Delhi : Amid tight security, the Australian team arrived here Wednesday for the third cricket Test against India starting Oct 29.
“Majority of the team is here except some players, who have taken a break. The players have three days leave and they are relaxed,” Philip Pope, media manager of the Australian team, told IANS.
India are 1-0 up in the four-Test series after registering a 320-run victory in Mohali in the second test. The series opener in Bangalore ended in a draw.
The Indian players have been given rest till Saturday and will assemble here by Sunday afternoon.
Australia Tuesday named Shaun Marsh as a replacement for Phil Jacques, who returned home with a back injury.
The Australian team had expressed concern over Delhi as venue after serial blasts in the capital Sept 13.
Pope said they were happy with the security cover provided for the players.
“We are extremely happy with the security. There is no problem on that front,” he said.
The match will start a day after Diwali.
