Havana : Cuban President Raul Castro held a meeting with European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid, Louis Michel, who concluded an official visit to the island, reported Granma newspaper on Saturday.
In the meeting held the eve at the Palace of the Revolution, the President and Michel agreed to welcome the resumption of bilateral cooperation between the European Commission and Cuba.
They both expressed optimism and relied that the political dialog initiated recently between the parties will result in mutual benefit, stresses the official note.
Attending the meeting were the Council of State Vice President Esteban Lazo, the Minister of Foreign Relations, Felipe Perez Roque and Josep Borrel, chairman of the Commission of Development in the European parliament, among other officials.
